Three-Day Workshops in Europe and the US
GALA / ATA / Localization Institute / CSU-Chico
Localization Certification Program
and Localization Project Management Certification
IMUG member and frequent speaker Bill Hall recommends - and has lectured in - this innovative program of three-day workshops. Another recent IMUG speaker, Anna Schlegel of Acclaro, is helping to design the certification program and will lead workshops on localization management.
The program has been offered in France, Germany, California and Washington, DC. The workshops are attended by talented professionals from around the world, and features experts and guest speakers from companies such as Google, HP, Microsoft, Cisco, and Lionbridge.
The program offers certification by the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the Localization Institute, and California State University - Chico. Also approved for 20 credits by the American Translators Association (ATA).

LISA Forums and Workshops in the US and Around the World
The Localization Industry Standards Association
The Localization Industry Standards Association is a member-governed organization of professionals in globalization and related industries. Since 1991, the LISA Forum has been the premier business, networking, and technical conference in the globalization industry.
LISA Forum USA was recently held in the San Francisco Bay Area covering these topics:

A non-structured, non-sales, "non-conference"
Localization Unconference, every May in Silicon Valley and Dublin, IE
This "non-conference" allows you to set the agenda and generate discussions on i18n/L10n topics in a non-structured, non-sales environment. 2010 was the third year of this conference. The Silicon Valley half was hosted at Salesforce.com in San Mateo, CA by Teresa Marshall of Salesforce.com, Mark Flanagan of VistaTEC, Shawna Wolverton of Salesforce.com and Ultan O’Broin of Oracle. GALA Conferences, Webinars and Events in Europe and Around the World
The Globalization and Localization Association
The annual GALA conference each May brings together suppliers, technology providers and consumers of translation and localization services to collaborate and discuss translation, localization and global content delivery. The three day event offers networking and education on building a global content strategy, running a language services company, and leveraging the latest language technologies and processes.

Tools, Methods and Business Practices in Localization and Internationalization
Localization World
The Localization World conference is held two or three times a year in cities around the world. Past venues include California's Silicon Valley, Berlin, Madison, Shanghai, Montreal, Barcelona, San Francisco, Bonn and Seattle.
Localization World offers vendor-neutral sessions on new tools, methods and business practices in localization and internationalization. The conference is a production of The Localization Institute and MultiLingual Computing under the guidance of a committee of leading industry professionals. Mac OS X Support Essentials
Mac OS X 10.5 Support Essentials Class is offered on a regular basis at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, CA The 6 week course is usually offered in the evenings in the Mac Lab (Room 4305) and as an online course, and has also been offered as a combination online/offline hybrid course.
This course provides the information necessary to pass the Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) OS X certification. The following topics are covered:
